Our Story
Fayyaa Integrated Development Organization (FIDO) is an Ethiopian resident not-for- profit Charity Organization established in 2002 by a group of volunteers in Jimma Zone of Oromia regional state in response to the fight against HIV/AIDS pandemic. When it first begun, FIDO started its field level operations in Jimma zone in partnership with Nazarene Compassionate Ministry (NCM) by providing support to 27 OVC with 10% community support. After evaluating its infant support triumphs, FIDO expanded its thematic scope and started to focus on HIV/AIDS related issues such as Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT), care and support for OVC and PLWHA. In addition to that, Malaria control, Child Development, Reproductive Health projects were launched with supports from its partners. There are core values and principles, which inform the work FIDO does in the community.

Organizational Structure
FIDO is governed by a General Assembly which consists of highly qualified and experienced people from various fields and institutions. There is also a Board of Directors which is elected by a General Assembly to oversee the overall operations of the organization and provide strategic guidance when necessary. FIDO’s head quarter is in Addis Ababa and it has 2 branch field coordination offices (Jimma and Nekemte). The Executive Director is responsible for the facilitation of organizational escalation as a team leader and coordinates all programmatic and financial related matters of the organization, with the support from a dedicated and qualified Program Director and Finance Administrative Director.
With a head quarter in Addis Ababa, the organization has two branch offices at Jimma and Nekemte towns and FIDO has implemented on 92 districts, with the majority of them located in SNNP and Oromia regions with currently 78 staff members (28 female and 50 Male), whose educational background lies PHD, MD, MA/MPH ad BA in health, social sciences, and community development. Currently working with 540 volunteers, FIDO has empowered the community through working with more than ten thousand community volunteers who cater the specific needs of target communities.
