Kassahun K. Suleman (PhD)

Programme Director

Dr. Kassahun is a Programme Director at Fayyaa Integrated Development Organization. His background is in social science with a Ph.D. in Development Studies from the University of the Western Cape in South Africa, M.Sc. in Development Studies from Addis Ababa University and B.Sc. in Plant Sciences from Haramaya University in Ethiopia.

 Dr. Kassahun has over thirteen years of experience working in a national, regional and international context. His areas of expertise include agriculture/food security, climate change, environmental management, economic justice, and disaster risk management. During his professional career, Dr. Kassahun has managed development and humanitarian projects and conducted scientific research in several countries, including South Africa, Ethiopia, Namibia, Kenya, and Italy.

Mistir Alebachew

Assistant Programme Director

Mistir works as an Assistant Programme Director at Fayyaa Integrated Development Organization and also provides technical leadership to RIF (Please write it in full) and GTN projects. With a focus on health sciences, she obtained a Master’s degree in Public Health and BSc in Generic Nursing from Hawassa and Jimma Universities respectively. Mistir has more than eight years of experience working in a public university as a lecturer of community-based development, gender and health.

Moreover, she has steered health-orientated projects in Ethiopia and participated in dozens of feasibility studies, surveys and research through various institutions, mainly Nutrition International and Jimma, Hawassa and Samara Universities.  Mister’s technical expertise span across maternal, neonatal and child health, nutrition, PMTCT, WASH, and education of health.

Mahlet Mekonenne (MPH)

Biomedical officer

Mahlet is a biomedical officer of MuluHIV prevention project at Fayyaa Integrated Development Organization. She has a Master degree in Public health from the university of Addis Ababa and BSC in health officer from Haramaya University in Ethiopia. Mahlet has close to ten years of professional experience in a clinical and public health context.

Some of her areas of technical expertise include disease prevention and control, HIV care and treatment, maternal and new born care, nutrition and WASH. From coordinating humanitarian projects to getting involved in action research, Mahlet has a proven experience working with a wide range of stakeholders, namely Addis Ababa University, EPHI, ACPHI and ESOG.

Eyuel Demissie

Monitoring and Evaluation  Manager

Eyuel is FIDO’s  Monitoring and Evaluation Manager. He obtained MPH in Public Health from Addis Ababa University and B.Sc. in Health Education and Promotion from Jimma University. Eyuel has over eight years of experience working with Addis Ababa City Administration Health Bureau, local and International NGOs in various position.
