2020 outstanding employee award receipts

CHCT Project Closeout

With the unwavering efforts and kind support of Project Hope, Fayyaa Integrated Development Organization (FIDO) has successfully completed a three-year project entitled Community HIV Care and Treatment (CHCT) project in Addis Ababa and Oromia Regional State. Since the CHCT project started in 2018 FIDO has supported 13,294 individuals living with HIV/AIDS and those people that are hard to reach in Addis Ababa and Ambo Town. FIDO through this project, effectively delivered health services to the target vulnerable groups in Addis Ababa and Ambo Town. The closing ceremony of the project was held Mognolia Hotel with the presence of government officials, stakeholders and invited guests. Stakeholders who played a significant role for the successful implementation of the project and high-achievers staff were recognized with certificate.

GtN Project Closeout

With a generous support of Save the Children, Fayyaa Integrated Development Organization (FIDO) has successfully implemented a one-year program entitled “Growth through Nutrition”. The project intervention areas constitute five (5) Zones and eleven (11) adjacent Woredas and 30 Kebeles of Oromia Regional State.

The project has improved the nutrition status of breast feeding women, children under the age of two years, and adolescent girls in East Wollega Zone (Gito Gida wereda), West Showa Zone (Bako Tibe Wereda) and South West Showa Zone (Becho and Wenchi Weredas in Oromia Regional state.

A total of 1, 975 beneficiaries were enrolled and participated in Enhanced Community Conversion (ECC) sessions and over 5,910 materials were distributed to ECC session attendants. In addition over 100 peer groups were established by Community Change Agents (CCA) and equipped with balanced nutrition skills. The project has directly addressed 1, 975 people through engaging balanced nutrition, livelihood interventions, capacity building trainings, and social accountability interventions.

CAFO Project Launching

With the support of the Christian Alliance for Orphans (CAFO), Fayyaa Integrated Development Organization (FIDO) has launched a new project entitled “COVID-19 Child Protection and Family Care Rapid Reintegration” to support and successfully reintegrated Vulnerable Adult and Children with their respective families and community in Jimma Town. The project is expected to reach 20 children and 30 adults at risk by the end of August 2021.

In response to the growing needs of the most underserved people in the community, Fayyaa Integrated Development Organization (FIDO) ran a huge humanitarian program to provide food items to the most disadvantaged group of the community it serves in Jimma Town. FIDO through its CVC project has assisted 13,530 vulnerable children and 7, 879 care givers this year. In addition a total of 435 individuals received asset transfer and 120 households.

Across the Oromia regional state, FIDO is scaling up necessary response to alleviate the risk of wide spread food shortage. In addition to reaching its targets in CVC project ahead of time, FIDO continued providing humanitarian assistance for the COVID-19 season with the aim to reach those who were still in urgent needs and affected by COVID-19.

Priority was given to people with specific needs and vulnerabilities such as the elderly people, female-headed households, persons with disabilities, people living with HIV/AIDS, people with mental health problems, and individuals suffering from serious health conditions and chronic diseases.

FIDO responds to COVID-19 epidemic

FayyaaIntegratedDevelopmentOrganization(FIDO)has provided prompt COVID-19 response, including community mobilization and public-awareness campaigns using multiple platforms in different local languages, which have increased the public awareness successfully.
FIDO has mobilized religious leaders to engage in public awareness campaigns and public health messages on COVID-19 prevention to impact the public at large. Four (4) billboards and two thousand (2000) posters conveying the prevention COVID-19 messages have been posted in different districts of Oromia Region. FIDO has also launched hygiene promotion campaigns through which 29,670 members of the target population have been reached. FIDO is closely working with the Government of Ethiopia, donor agencies, private sectors and other civil society organizations to support national preparedness and response for COVID-19 pandemic. FIDO will continue to mobilize the community and engage in community outreach programs to combat the COVID-19 pandemic with the government and relevant stakeholders by increasing joint efforts and collaboration at all levels.

FIDO implements resilience project for IDPs

Fayyaa Integrated Development Organization (FIDO) has provided support and built the resilience of Internally Displaced Peoples (IDPs) in East Wollega, Oromia Region. With the financial support of IOM, RRF Fund; FIDO has undertook maintenance of 14 water schemes and hand washing stations in Digga and Gutu Gida woredas of East Wollega, Oromia Region to help meet the immediate needs of IDPs.

The project has also provided 39,540 pieces of soap to selected beneficiaries and face masks for hygiene promoters to protect IDPs from the impacts of COVID-19 in the area. FIDO has supported IDPs and the most vulnerable group of the community in delivering clean water storage and sanitation services.

FIDO leverages efforts to tackle HIV/AIDS in Addis Ababa, Oromia

To accelerate and sustain HIV/AIDS epidemic control in Ethiopia through delivery of high-impact community-based HIV services, Fayyaa Integrated Development Organization (FIDO) has partnered with Project Hope in implementing the Community HIV Care and Treatment (CHCT) activity in Addis Ababa and Oromia Region, which is funded by USAID.

The project aims to improve the community health service delivery for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV) and their families in Arada and Addis Ketema sub-cities in Addis Ababa and Ambo town in Oromia Region. The project also focuses on building the capacity of community through capacity development activities such as strengthening and establishing Community Care Collation (CCC) and PLHIV associations and providing resource mobilization trainings.

Prison women get reintegration support

Fayyaa Integrated Development Organization (FIDO) is implementing Civil Society Support Program Two- CSSP2/British Council funded project to increase capacity and skills of prison women in income generating activities and improve their psycho-social development.

The project is supporting 140 women prisoners at the local levels to strengthen the workforce and provide services in registration, profiling, referral, temporary work placement and job training. The three years project aims to empower women prisoners for successful reintegration into their communities.    

The project does not only intend to empower women prisoners, but also tackle the underlying issues affecting them, addressing their immediate needs, building their resilience and protecting their children at-risk.
