GtN Project Closeout

With a generous support of Save the Children, Fayyaa Integrated Development Organization (FIDO) has successfully implemented a one-year program entitled “Growth through Nutrition”. The project intervention areas constitute five (5) Zones and eleven (11) adjacent Woredas and 30 Kebeles of Oromia Regional State. The project has improved the nutrition status of breast feeding women, children under the age of two years, and adolescent girls in East Wollega Zone (Gito Gida wereda), West Showa Zone (Bako Tibe Wereda) and South West Showa Zone (Becho and Wenchi Weredas in Oromia Regional state.

A total of 1, 975 beneficiaries were enrolled and participated in Enhanced Community Conversion (ECC) sessions and over 5,910 materials were distributed to ECC session attendants. In addition over 100 peer groups were established by Community Change Agents (CCA) and equipped with balanced nutrition skills. The project has directly addressed 1, 975 people through engaging balanced nutrition, livelihood interventions, capacity building trainings, and social accountability interventions.
