How It Is Organized

FIDO is governed by a General Assembly which consists of highly qualified and experienced people from various fields and institutions. There is also a Board of Directors which is elected by a General Assembly to oversee the overall operations of the organization and provide strategic guidance when necessary. FIDO’s head quarter is in Addis Ababa and it has 2 branch field coordination office (Jimma and Nekemte) and 47 project offices in different districts, with the majority of them located in SNNP and Oromia regions. The Executive Director is responsible for the facilitation of organizational escalation as a team leader and coordinates all programmatic and financial related matters of the organization, with the support from a dedicated and qualified Program Director and Finance Administrative Director.


In total, the organization has 186 staffs (74 female and 112 Male) with educational background ranging from PhD, MSc/MPH and BSc/BA to Diploma in health, social science and community development fields. Moreover, there are 560 male and female community Volunteers who are also working with the organization on various programs/projects.
